Rehab That Targets the Cause, Not Just the Pain

Sports injuries and recurring niggles are common across the Gold Coast — especially for active adults juggling training, work, parenting, surfing, gym and everyday life.

The problem is that most rehab only targets the injured area, rather than the movement patterns that caused the injury in the first place.

Our whole-body, biomechanics-first approach helps you return to doing what you love — without the constant cycle of flare-ups, adjustments, taping or rest.

Why Injuries Keep Coming Back

If your movement pattern stays the same, the injury returns.

Most rehab only changes the symptom

  • Strengthening the “weak” muscle
  • Stretching the “tight” muscle
  • Rest, ice, massage or dry needling
  • Generic activation drills

These only change the symptom, not the movement pattern that's overloading the area.

Injury is rarely isolated

  • Rib and pelvis misalignment
  • Overcompensation during load
  • Poor force distribution when walking, lifting or rotating
  • Breathing patterns that create spinal compression

Injury is usually the result of how the whole body distributes load — not one “bad” muscle.

The Functional Patterns Approach to Injury Rehab

We use Functional Patterns corrective movement to address the root cause of your injury by restoring how your body coordinates as a system. We help you:

  • Rebalance your pelvis, ribs and hips
  • Improve breathing and core pressure
  • Reduce compensation in the lower back or knees
  • Retrain how you walk, squat, lift, rotate and stabilise
  • Build long-term tissue durability and strength

This leads to:

  • Movement that feels natural
  • Less pain during exercise and daily activity
  • Confidence returning to training
  • A lower chance of re-injury

Injuries We Commonly Support

Whether it's a lower-body niggle, an upper-body restriction or a spine and movement issue, we work with the pattern behind it.

Lower Body

  • Knee pain & tracking issues
  • ACL & MCL post-rehab recovery
  • Hamstring strains
  • Hip impingement
  • Ankle mobility or sprain recovery

Upper Body

  • Shoulder impingement
  • Rotator cuff pain
  • Neck and upper back tension
  • Rib and thoracic stiffness
  • Recurrent dislocations

Injuries Our Team Have Supported

Ankle Ligament Injuries (Including ATFL Tear)+
These injuries reoccur when the ankle is the first line of stability instead of the last. We retrain foot mechanics, knee–hip alignment and whole-body balance so the ligaments stop getting overloaded.
Syndesmosis / High Ankle Sprains+
This injury is highly linked to rotational control issues in the hips. We restore proper tibial rotation and pelvic timing so the syndesmosis can heal without re-sprain cycles.
Syndesmotic Injury Recovery Time+
Recovery is faster when the body stops compensating around the injury. We support the healing process by stabilising the entire chain — not just the ankle.
Torn Calf Muscle+
Calves tear when the glutes, hamstrings and hip rotators aren't absorbing load. We rebuild back-line engagement so the calf stops doing the job of the entire posterior chain.
Plantar Plate Tear+
Often caused by forefoot overload due to poor mid-foot control and pelvic rotation. We improve foot mechanics and redistribute force through the hips.
Proximal Hamstring Tendinopathy+
A classic pattern showing anterior pelvic tilt or poor hip extension. We restore glute sequencing, posterior chain balance and rotational control to unload the tendon.
Gluteal Tendinopathy / Glute Tendon Pain+
This tendon becomes irritated when the pelvis drops or rotates excessively during walking or running. We strengthen the glute-med/min in the context of gait — not with clams or side-lying exercises.
Hip Hurts After Running+
Usually a rotation imbalance. We analyse your gait and rebuild your hip-pelvis mechanics to stop repetitive overload.
& Much More+
